iMac 27" display panel + controller board shows flipped image

Greetings!

I received an iMac 27” converted to a standalone monitor (all internals stripped + a controller added for the display) and it worked perfectly for about 2 weeks. It suddenly flipped the image vertically (top is now bottom).

Do you know what’s going on, or if I should be worried? The details the controller shows are:

  • RTD2785T
  • FW: Para V001 20180420
  • CHKSM 3EEA
  • PNL: LM270WQ1 SDFG
  • DP OK
  • XXX 2016 14
  • SIZE: 27 INCH
  • 2560X1440
  • CHKSUM: 71
  • HDMI OK
  • RTK 2015 25
  • SIZE: 27 INCH
  • 2560X1440
  • CHKSUM: 97
  • DVI OK
  • XXX 2016 14
  • SIZE: 27 INCH
  • 2560X1440
  • CHKSUM: 94

Here is how the controller started showing the notifications right after it flipped:

I was able to go to my OS settings and flip the image 180 degrees so that I can actually see it the proper way, but the controller still shows all hardware notifications flipped.

Did you contact the controller maker? This condition is a firmware issue within it.

I contacted the seller on https://www.aliexpress.com/i/40003785777... but I haven't received a reply as of now That's why hoped someone else had ran into this issue and had a pointer for me, like a jumper or something.

@dan__ Sadly each product is different! Looking at the images I don't see any jumper headers or switch blocks. That limits your options within either firmware or software.

You may need to find another unit.
