I have a MacBook Pro mid-2012 running OS 10.14.6. I'm unable to move the cursor using the trackpad.
More details:
-I'm able to click everything perfectly fine with the trackpad. -It seems like the cursor slightly moves when I press quite hard on the left-hand side of the trackpad. -I don't know if this related but my MacBook shows "service battery", the cycle count is 651. -I've tried NVRAM, PRAM AND SMC reset.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi Dan, thank you so much for your reply. I've been reading up on this on various outlets and some people are alluding to this being caused by a swelling battery? What are your thoughts on this?
@karx25 - If the click was having an issue then I would have agreed.
For the sake of argument, let’s get a better view of things, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see 在已经存在的问题里加入图片 that way we can see the batteries health.
@danj Hi Dan, thanks once again. I've attached a screenshot of the coconut battery app. Just an update: Oddly enough, I was able to move the cursor perfectly fine for about 15 minutes last evening. But, once again, it stopped moving after the next boot.
@karx25 - Clearly your battery needs to be replaced for a year old battery its not healthy!
I would see if its covered under warranty as its just coming to a year old (2020-05-07)
@danj so would this confirm the battery is the reason for the cursor issue?
