No signal on first two restarts but always works on the third

I just built by gaming pc few days back and I'm having an issue

First start up : computer boots up , monitor gives out a display… goes to sign in windows screen then immediately goes black and few seconds after shows “No

Second start up : computer boots up, monitor gives out a display… . This time around I can enter my windows log in password and hit enter… but then again after I hit enter it shows a screen with black light and then again “no signal" On monitor

Third start up : works fine without any issues

This always happens… first two tries are a bust but always works on the third restart… can anyone help me fix this issue??

Fixes tried:

-Reinstalled windows OS

-Removed and reattached rams

-Checked hdmi to Pc and TV connections

-Checked connections

- Disabled fast boot option in windows power settings

-reconnected my 3060TI gpu

What I think: it should be a software issue since the issue is recurring and always works in the third restart… if it was hardware it should have been random but for the past 2 weeks the issues remains the same so does the restart count 3

If anyone could help me out that would be awesome I don't have a single thing to try anymore and I'm worried since this is my dream build and I worked hard for it for over 4 months working 9 hours to buy all the parts

There could be a number of possible causes. What are your specifications? Mainboard, CPU, power supply, etc.

1.) It could be a driver issue. Have you tried booting up in Safe Mode?

Here are 8 ways:

https://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-b...

2.) Does the problem happen if you do a soft shutdown from Windows the day before and then start up the next day with a mouse or keyboard click (setting in BIOS/UEFI).

3.) Another thing to try is to boot into the BIOS/UEFI screen from a cold start at the start of your day. Does it work? Stay there for about 10 minutes and then do a regular boot-up.

4.) Could be a power supply issue - defective capacitior taking a long time to “charge-up”. Have you got a known good one you could swop out with yours?

5.) Take out 3060TI gpu and try anorther one and see if it boots normall. If no spare GPU - just watch drive activity light and estimate normal boot-up time.

That’s enough to try for now. Troubleshooting is a process of elimination as I am sure you understand.

I usually keep notes to keep track of things - what I tried and the time sequence of the actions.

Specs:

Ryzen 5 5600x (won't work without gpu)

Samsung evo m. 2 ssd

Gigabyte aorus b550 pro AC motherboard

PSU: corsair RM750

Fix 1. Tried booting into safe mode by the computer does not let me do that at start from windows sign in menu... It either shows no signal or it just shuts down..... So I tried the second method that is setting it up after logging into windows and that seemed to work... And now I'm in safe mode

2. I belive only the first few start ups of the day has this problem.

The problem is I think after I turn off the switch for the psu.

But from what just happened when trying to get into safe mode I think that is not the case since the same(no signal) issue has happened for over 10 restarts when trying to get into safe mode.

Note : after you mentioned this part I tried restarting to confirm... And it turns out the problem does come up during a restart even though the switch was not turned off...

Another thing I have noticed is the no signal issue that sometimes pop up before Windows log in only happens at the first startup.... All the other startup no signal issues are after entering password and hitting enter

3. This method did seem to work but then again I has restarted a couple of times before that but the error still does occur when I try restarting

Another note : when booting up my mobo also gives out 3 red lights sometimes... It's usually the one....

The ones that light up are BOOT, VGA and DRAM

The ones that frequently occur during startup is DRAM and VGA

I have noticed VGA light up mostly everytime.

And I am using hdmi to connect to my TV... My monitors have not been delivered yet

I know this is a long comment but wanted to make every thing clear as possible

Hi @Reuben Tomy

Missed your reply. I forgot to ask the most basic question!

* Have you updated the BIOS/UEFI ? Version F13f 2021/03/12 is the latest.

Especially important for Ryzen 5000 series. Use the Q-Flash Plus button and a USB flash drive - see your manual for directions.

* Possibly a driver needed for, you don't say which model, Samsung EVO? My 970 EVO Plus NVMeM.2 needed one.

CPU/DRAM/VGA/BOOT (Status LEDs)

Do the LED's stay on long or just for a few seconds?

TV as a monitor:

They can sometimes be a bit unreliable. Make sure the TV is turned on first so the graphics card can recognise it properly. My Samsung is like that.

Entering "Safe Mode":

1) Ensure your PC is off.

2) Press the power button to turn on your PC, and then hold the power button down until PC shuts down automatically (about 5 seconds). Repeat this more than 2 times until you see the Preparing Automatic Repair (see below screenshot).

3) Then wait for Windows to diagnose your PC.

4) Click Advanced options, and then the system will bring up the Windows RE (Recovery environment.) screen.

5) On the Windows RE (Recovery environment) screen, click Troubleshoot.

6) On the Troubleshoot screen, click Advanced options.

7) Click Start-up Settings to continue.

8) Click Restart. The computer restarts and another screen opens showing a list of different start-up options.

9) On your keyboard, press the 4 number key to enter Safe Mode without network. (If you need to do some online research after boot into the safe mode, press the 5 number key to enter Safe Mode with network access.)

@aactech idk if you still can see this because this thread still last year, I have the same problem, the problem on mine is the number 2 of your solution which is the 2.) Does the problem happen if you do a soft shutdown from Windows the day before and then start up the next day with a mouse or keyboard click (setting in BIOS/UEFI). when i turn on my pc the next day still need a 1 restart to turn on the monitor.

Here are my specs:

i5 3570

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770

h61h2-m2

PSU: gw 600se

I don't know what to do and I can't understand the solution in the number 2

Hope you or someone can help me. Thanks
