Boot looping after upgrade

I recently installed an m.2 SSD on my late 2013 27” iMac. Before reinstalling the screen with adhesive, it booted to MacOS like normal and showed the new SSD. I shut it down, disconnected the screen, installed new adhesive and reinstalled the screen.

Now when I try to boot it up the screen does nothing and it just plays the startup chime over and over again. I’m not sure if it could be caused by an issue with the screen installation or if I have a bigger issue.

I’m at my wits end, so hopefully someone has some advice; I’ll take almost any idea at this point, so thank you in advance for your thoughts!

What happens when you try booting up on an external bootable drive? Use the Option (⌥) key to enter into the Startup Manager so you can select the external drive.

Reference: Mac startup key combinations

I fear your M.2 and adapter solution is just not able to work in your system. I really don’t recommend them.
