Logic Board replacement different version
Is it possible to replace the 2017 3.5GHz i5 Logicboard with a 2020 Imac Logic board? Is the Housing and the screw holes the same? Thank you and best regards :-)

I don’t think anyone has gone that far with the newer iMac’s.
Apple has altered the cases quite a bit between the different series as you can see in this posting o the 21.5” models Are iMac cases compatible between 2013-2020?
With your 27” model:
- 2017 - 27” iMac 27" Retina 5K Rear Housing Unit, Apple P/N 923-01666
- 2019 - 27” iMac 27" Retina 5K Rear Housing Unit, Apple P/N 923-03064
- 2020 to current - 27” iMac 27" Retina 5K Rear Housing Unit, Apple P/N 923-04246
As you can see Apple has different P/N’s for each series here. So we can surmise Apple altered things between these systems.

So it is better to replace the whole machine, or at least less effort.
Thats what I would do, look for a used system that meets your needs and sell yours to recover some funds.
Are you sure you need to do that? Depending on what you have there maybe not enough performance improvement given the costs.
