Blade SSD is about to failure on my iMac 27''Late 2015. Need some help
Hello all.
I have an late 2015 27” iMac - I7 4.0 GHz + 3TB Fusion Drive (with 128GB Blade SSD).
Running DriverDX, it shows that the lifetime of my SSD is kind of critical
Should I be really worried about it ?
Which Blade SSD should I go for? Any recommendation? Also, should I replace the Fusion’s HDD for an SSD like a Samsung EVO 970 or similar?
I see a lot of confusion regarding it and I am a bit lost.
I have upgraded HDD on old iMacs, MacBook Pros in the past but I know it's not a simple process when it comes to remove the logic board, but it can be done with some precautions.
Which are the parts I’m going to need to have the job done? Please could you list it. I don't want to open the iMac and realize that something is missing and not be able to finish the job.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Dan.
Thank you very much for your help.
I was checking the link you post about SSD and it says it's not compatible with Imac 17.1
Do you have any idea where I can find a SSD compatible with my Imac ?
I am trying look for something at Ebay, preferable in Europe, but I didn't have too many options.
In case I choose the OWC Aura Pro X2, what would be the difference between them ?
I already have all the tools needed and adhesive strips that I bought before and never used. I would like to know if I will need any cable adapter so ?

Then you'll need to stick with the Samsung SSPOLARIS SSD then in my first link ;-{
Thats all there is! Here's a useful link The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs

I meant the first link you posted ( Samsung SSPolaris ) is not compatible with my Imac.
Would be any problem if I go for the OWC SSD ?

Besides an used SSD I found this one on Ebay and he claims its compatible with my Imac ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/323984844157?ul... ). Can I trust this info ?
I also found this info ( https://beetstech.com/blog/apple-proprie... )
"All of the SSDs found in the Late 2015 iMacs are of the new PCIe 3.0 x4 variety, but the A1418 only supports a PCIe 2.0 x4 connection. The 27″ iMac, on the other hand, is the only device other than the 15″ MacBook Pro to support a PCIe 3.0 x4 connection. Both iMacs support the NVMe protocol though and can upgrade to later Gen. 5 SSDs for a big speed boost."
Every time I dig into it, I get more confused.
Dumb question but in the worst case scenario, if I don't find any new compatible Blade SSD, will the Imac work if you remove it ?

You are getting your self twisted up with bad info! The eBay link is for a Mac Mini not your system.
The A1418 designator covers a wide range of systems! Thats like saying all Ford pickups have the same engine. Which we know is not true!
So is this not what you want? SSD Replacement Kit – iMac 27″ A1419 Late 2015
You have a 27" system, correct?
Your system is in the A1418 series, correct?
Is your system a Late 2015, correct?
As you pointed out your system has a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot so a NVMe/PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD would be the correct SSD, correct?
So this must be the correct SSD is it not?
