Hello I cracked my phone and the touchscreen features suddenly stopped working about two hors after that. The image displays fine and everything else seems to be working fine is there any way I could maybe fix this at home as a lot of places are closed around me.

You’ll have to replace the screen as the digitizer is damaged. It looks like ifixit only has the LCD kit which I highly advise against because that phone uses the more efficient OLED panel and the connectors are not designed to handle the extra current LCD panels will draw. That leaves you with the hard or soft OLED. For best quality I recommend soft because that’s what apple uses. The hard OLED is cheaper but it is more brittle and you’re more likely to damage the OLED panel before breaking the glass. You’ll also need to get a toolkit to fix it. Keep in mind that when you replace the display it will pop up with a message saying “apple cannot verify a genuine apple display has been installed on this device”. That is nothing to be concerned about so long as you use a quality part.

You want to be very careful disconnecting the earpiece speaker/proximity sensor cable because it is glued down. You will probably have to put a little heat with a hair dryer or a heat gun. Use a plastic spugger and carefully pull up the cable. These wires are very fine and easy to tear so be careful. If you damage the cable you face Id will no longer work.
@barriphone yes I forgot to mention that. Don't use metal pry tools around the connectors either!
And use use the hair dryer or heat gun to heat up the sides of the screen to release the adhesive. Pry the screen up from the bottom left half and once you have a opening just enough to get a guitar pick, a playing card use it to go around the sides and top to cut through the adhesive. Once you open the screen open it like a book from left to right.
@hootonberg always plastic spugger. It wouldn't hurt them to use a razor blade to get a gap when taking the screen off since they are going to replace it. I doubt he is going to have it refurbished. So he doesn't have to worry about damaging it. What part of the country is your business,?
