Is this possible to do? Planning on turning iMac into monitor

I’m planning on turning this 2006 24 inch iMac into a monitor for another computer and I’ve bought the LVDS controller board and it needs 12V power so I bought an adaptor to use the original iMac power supply by connecting the SATA power cable to a DC In Cable to power the controller board but i found out the inverter which is part of the display needs 24V of power separately and i don’t know how to give it power? So I was planning on possibly using the original motherboard of the iMac and connecting it to the inverter which is how it was powered in the original computer through a cable. Could I do that? Use the controller board to control the LVDS signal but have the original iMac motherboard power the backlights through the same cable it did originally in the computer? I would have to press the power button and all so the computer thinks it’s on and powers the sata power and inverter

This system uses CCFL lamps for the backlight unlike newer ones which use LED.

There is a inverter which requires the 24 volts and then bumps it up from 200 volts to more than 600 volts at a high frequency. The lamps are no longer available so if the display is dim there is nothing you can do to fix it.

You may want to look for a newer system to convert.

@mayer - Missing a lot of that wisdom you have ;-}

Can't wait to see this finished.

You also have some other stuff mixed in at the end, it looks like both MacBook Pro TB and MacBook display disassembly.
