MacBook won't boot after trying to installing SSD

Hello everyone,

I installed a SSD replacing the HDD in my MacBook mid 2012. After installing the SSD the PC won’t boot anymore, the LED indicator blinks once, then the fan spins for 1 second and stops. After around 10 seconds this just repeats, LED blinks, fan spins 1 second and over.

I tried putting back the HDD, but the issue is still there now :O Any advice would be appreicted.

I’ve also tried to boot without any hard drive and without the battery, but it’s all the same. When i boot without any harddrive, nothing happens at all.

Please Help :)

I’m suspecting your HD cable has failed but I’m not sure, did the display show any image? About the screens on your Mac as it starts up

There is nothing showing on the display at all. The guide you sent i followed it, im not an expert with PCs but basic replacements like this i never &&^&@@ up before this bad xD I have no idea what i could've done.

A fully dead system will require deeper diagnostics that what you can perform. Time to visit someone who is skilled in fixing mac systems.

@danj aight :) don't you have any possible troubleshooting I could attempt? Seems unlikely it would be worth getting this machine serviced. Any help is appreciated. After all I've build shittons of stationary pcs and worked at a phone repair shop, but this just doesn't make sense for me :)

You seem to be smart in the area, so any help troubleshooting I could attempt I would be very grateful for!

You'll need the schematics, board views & a good DVM to trace the power lines for a starter. Do you know how to read them as well as have the ability to solder SMT devices?

@danj Nah that's out of my expertise :-D It was just if you were suspecting to replace a specific part, i could try to do that :-) But thanks for trying to help me out, I appreciate it

Just a shot but worth a try - disconnect the mag-safe. Disconnect the battery. Press and hold the power on button for ten seconds. Reconnect the battery, then the Mag-safe adapter. You should get a spontaneous reboot. This failing, take it to an independent professional.
