Hi I have same problem. I need ssd repair for the Mac Pro 16” 2019. Till now you still cannot fix ? I really want my mac to work again ! I see that you can fix other mac like the 15’’ cant you try this 16’’ as well ? My mac is still new and I have no idea how the ssd got damaged. Unfortunately the warranty just ended 3 months ago.
@Anda Shologu - Sorry, Apple designed the system in such away it would hard without very specialized tools.
Think of it this way… your family doctor has the skills to deal with the majority of issues you would likely face. Now what happens if you have cancer? You would need to seek out an oncologists someone who is specialized on cancer and they even have people who are even more focused! Like Brain cancer. So now how many doctors world wide have these deeper skills? Not many!
That’s the issue here very few repair people have these deeper skills, and many are located at major cities where there is enough clients to support them.
Now let be blow this up to the next level! Apple uses encryption! So you can’t salvage anything! Once the Flash chips are removed they are junk.
So all one can do is replace them at which point when you add it up replacing the full logic board is the cheaper solution!

Again, I didn’t say it couldn’t be done! I made it clear it was a very difficult repair and better than 90% of repair techs don’t have the tools or skills to do it. One also needs to keep their skills honed, that is doing this often!
Even I won’t do it as I know my limits.

@tomchai - Correct! the RAM & storage is soldered.
How are they changed or replaced by Techs at Mac Service-Shops? When being used to soldering IC’s on multi-layered MoBo’s with an anti-static, isolated temp-controlled Weller or such soldering Irons, is it possible at all?

Without the proper tools, training and skills you are not going to be successful and you also need to have access to the proper chips.
Ya, not particularly in the mood to solder on new HW yet. Waiting for a while to do memory and SSD upgrade in 2 - 3 years, when they will be much cheaper, or search for broken units that can then be revived with newly soldered Memory and SDD. :-/
