Intermittent interruption of audio
Vizio D50u-D1: The over-the-air TV sound drops out for 0.5 to 3 seconds every two or three minutes. When playing a DVD through an HDMI cable there is no sound problem. Both audio come out through a Vizio CB3821-C6 soundbar using the optical cable which is connected correctly. Do I need to change my main board or am I suffering from the digital TV spectrum?

Does it happen on all channels or just the one channel group?
Does it do this on OTA channels when the TV speakers are used for the audio?
Has the TV got the latest firmware installed?
Just to eliminate it as a possibility, check if the TV has an AVL (auto volume level or similar) setting in the Settings > Audio menu options section.
If it is enabled, disable it and check.
