Replace HD with SSD

Can I replace the HD with a SSD model: 128GB Crucial m4 2.5-inch SATA 6GB/s ?

It should work but I'm not exactly sure which machine you have as I can find no mid 2008 17" non-unibody machine. Please give us the last three figures of your serial number to be sure. Thanks

Sorry, I must have the date wrong. Its the first generation Intel Core 2 Duo 17" MacBook Pro. The one with silver keys.
