How to take the back of my Motorola. Don't know what kind it is
- Need to take back cover off to see what type it is. Also screen won't come on at all. Just black

Step 1
Turn off your Motorola cell phone.
Step 2
Remove the battery cover from your cell phone. Most models require a small amount of pressure to be applied while sliding off the cover.
Step 3
Remove the cell phone battery and locate the white sticker on the phone, underneath where the battery was housed.
Step 4
Go to http://servicemyphone.Motorola.com/iden/... on Motorola's website and enter the ESN or IMEI number found on the white sticker. If you cannot locate the ESN or IMEI number, go to http://direct.Motorola.com/hellomoto/nss... for assistance.

If it has a non removable backplate, the model number is usually on the bottom next to the charging port, or on the back near the bottom. the numbers are very small and may be hard to see. If it is a Moto G6, then I think the model number on those was just on a sticker that could have fallen off the back, so… upload a picture?

If there are no screws like in the following example, or the back doesn't simply push off then you will most likely need a spudger tool or something like guitar picks. Do a search for spudger in the Tools section of this site.
