MBP battery replacement: put the I/O cable the wrong way

So the whole proces of taking it apart went pretty smooth and putting it back together felt the same way. However, my MBP with it’s new battery was not booting, even with the battery indicator on.

Taking it apart again showed that the I/O cable that we removed on step 9 was put back the wrong way (180 degrees). This probably resulted in a short circuit with the connector on the motherboard not looking good.

I’m afraid my MBP is dead by now but would really like to get it fixed but I don’t know what would be the best procedure moving forward?

If the Mac doesn’t give signs of life any longer your best chance to get it fixed is finding a reputable shop or lab into component level repairs. Fixing a dead/faulty logic board without technical background isn’t a DiY repair one can learn in a reasonable amount of time, let alone the lack of information/education available on the topic. Another reasonable alternative, although more expensive, would be replacing logic and/or I/O boards.
