One way would be to shut off the valve at the water supply branch (leading to the dishwasher) located under the sink, first. Then accessing the water inlet valve (under the front of the dishwasher) and disconnecting the incoming supply line and allowing it to drain out. Once the water from the line is drained, reconnect the supply line to the water inlet valve, and reinstall the kick plate. Leave the shut off valve under the sink closed until you’re ready to put the dishwasher back in service.

Hi,

Do you mean that you need to protect the water supply piping to the dishwasher from the winter temperatures, i.e water in supply freezing or not warm enough, so that the dishwasher will still work in the winter?

If so, where you have good access to the pipes and where it is most exposed, wrap the pipe in some sort of insulation tape - example only to minimize the effects of the cold temps on the water in the pipe (especially if it is a hot water feed- some dishwashers require min 120 deg F water supply to operate correctly)

If it is a hot water feed, wrap the insulation, in an overlapping way so there is no gaps, around the output pipe of the hot water heater as well.

If the pipe is in a wall cavity this makes things difficult as you can only insulate where you can reach.

You can also wrap the dishwasher inlet hose as well as every bit of exposed piping that is covered will help minimize the effect.

Here’s a tech sheet for the insulation just to show you the specifications.

Most plumbing suppliers or larger hardware stores where you are should carry similar products that may be even more suitable for your location.
