Rca 55in tv.turn off and on and when on flashes menu screen in middle of tv..then turns off

Mike Medina we need to know the exact model number for your TV. Your whole image including the menu turn off and on then TV shuts down? Doe sit shut down or does it just turn black? What have you checked?
