New larger speaker for timer?

I am hard of hearing and I’m thinking about re-wiring a somewhat larger speaker to my kitchen timer. If I did so, would I get a LOUDER alarm ? I’m assuming that all speakers are low voltage “DC” current ?

Hi @ramses2 ,

A larger speaker does not necessarily mean a louder sound.

You may find that it will have an even quieter sound as the timer may not supply enough output current to drive the bigger speaker efficiently to produce the louder sound.

You may be better off getting a loud sounding timer - 95dB

This link shows where the 95dB sound level is in relation to other man made sounds and how they impact on your hearing.
