No. The Mid 2012 logic boards were the last before the retinas started. The best you can do is the 2.9 GHz i7 2012 board.

UPDATE 2/28/19

Good to visit with you on the phone. To go back over what we talked about (keeping the 2011 logic board and upgrading the machine:

High Sierra is the max. I recommend the Samsung 860 SSD drive.

Replace the hard drive cable with the one from the 2012 machine:

Here are the protection steps I take

Use a SATA to USB external adapter. Format the new drive APFS. Then install High Sierra. Now use migration assistant to move your old APPS and data and user.

Just to add to Mayer's answer the retina models use a very different physical design. The 2011 & 2012 models share the same physical design and use the same inter-connections as such the 2012 is a drop-in replacement.

Thank you so much. This is fantastic.

I love this computer with all its ports etc. should I spend the money to upgrade the logicboard, ram and Hard drive, or just buy a new laptop? I’m worried that if I put $5-600 into this something like the screen something else might fail. This is a computer I’m using for school.

If the system meets your needs then its worth fixing! Unless your logic board has failed I would focus on upping the RAM and swapping out the HDD for a SSD (you'll want a new HD SATA cable as well).

I'm working off of a 15" 2011 system which I upgraded the logic board to a 2012 as the dedicated GPU died. Your 13" model doesn't suffer from that problem.

Thanks for help! Can I format my new SSD using my current set up on my MacBook Pro and migration assistant to transfer all my files from laptop to new SSD? Or do I need two separate computers?
