Why is the yellow light on my DSI flickering?

A couple days ago, I turned on my DSI to play some Pokémon when I noticed the yellow light on the left was flickering. It wasn’t changing colour or completely turning off, just flickering. Everything else on it seem’s to be working just fine, but the game was running a little slower and loading times took longer. I’ve had my DSI for over 8 years now, so should I be worried? If so, what should I do?
