iMac with Fusion drive: does replacing with SSD remove Fusion?

For an iMac with a Fusion drive, does removing that drive and replacing it with an SDD remove all traces of “Fusion-ness” from the computer? In other words, does the drive that is getting removed contain everything that is “Fusion”?

Or, or is some other step also required when replacing a Fusion drive with an SSD … in order to “de-Fusion” the computer?

I’m wondering if the drive swap is all that is needed.

Thanks.

You need to break the fusion drive set into the discreet drives following this: How to split up a Fusion Drive. Then you can replace your HDD with a new drive.

Remember your system still has the blade SSD on the back side of the logic board as seen here
