Vertical line screen problem 12"

hi guys

before some days that line appeared, it dissapeared than after some minutes, but it apperead for second time and didn’t disappeared yet, i have a no idea what is it and why it apperead. Do you guys have a idea why and if its only way to fix on a service how much it would be cost?

Dan, what about the problem on my laptop, it is also like that but there's a lot more lines and it generates a white background when I am closing the lid. Also, my mac is Macbook 12" Retina Early 2015

If you have a lot of lines that's at the point you'll need a new display. My Answer below give you the details.

Ouch! You have whats called a TAB error. What happens it the LCD panel has a thin coat of metal to create the wires on the glass to the pixel locations on the screen in a grid pattern (X & Y) on the edge of the LCD screen there is an point where the signals from the driver logic needs to connect to the screen, this mechanical interface is what has failed.

Sorry to say theres just not much you can do to fix it. You’ll need to live with it or replace the full lid assembly. You might find pressing along the edge of the screen might make it disappear as you might be able to get the broken connections to bridge otherwise it is what it is.

A common cause is a bang on the edge or something heavy sat on the lid.

The labor will likely be somewhere around $200 US unless you do it your self.

You might want to visit an Apple Store to see what they say.
