Replacing hinge / wifi cable?

I have an early model 2011 Macbook Pro. When I first got it, I was just out of high school and did not know how to take care of nice things. That’s on me.

The hinge is massively broken and when I got it looked at for an assessment, the Apple store told me that the wifi cable that runs up through the monitor was severed at the hinge.

I have to use a Wifi adapter to get Wifi, unless I’m literally sitting right next to the router. It still works great otherwise, and if I could fix it, I would like to.

How would I go about this? I’ve looked at some break downs for the LCD assembly and such, and I’m not 100% which one would actually fix my problem.

Basically, you’ll need to take the display assembly off to get to the antenna and the hinge units.

Here’s the IFIXIT guide you’ll need to follow: MacBook Pro 13“Unibody 2011早期显示屏更换. Once you get that far you’ll need to slide off the black clutch cover to expose the antenna unit and hinges. Unscrew it and the hinges. Here’s the antenna assembly MacBook Pro Unibody Airport Antenna and here’s the needed hinges MacBook 13" Unibody Hinge Kit.

That's exactly what I needed to know! Thanks so much!

Just to clarify real quick, I DO NOT need to replace the screen/lcd, just obviously remove it to get to the hinge and airport?

Correct! You don't need to replace anything other than the antenna and the hinges. I just did one last week.

Thanks so much again! May be a week before I can order the parts, but I will touch base here once I'm done! You gave me exactly what I needed to know.

Last question, I promise. If I have to replace the hinge casing, I assume that will be self explanatory once I get to that step?
