After replacing battery, iPhone will not connect to WiFi

I replaced battery in my iPhone 5. The replacement process seemed to go smoothly. Now the iPhone seems to work OK except it will not connect to WiFi. I tried power off/on, WiFi off/on, delete the ssid and join that ssid again. Still will no connect to WiFi. Did I break something? Thanks for any ideas.

Also double check your iPhone system date, since that was the problem for me (year reset to 2001 or before). Once I changed to current date, that fixed the Wifi and cellular data immediately. Seems to be a protection feature inside iOS.

Yesssss! That was all it was. My date was also defaulted to Dec '69. What a stupid thing for the wifi not to work because of that. What a headache. Thank you so much!

From the Troubleshooting guide:

Weak or lost wireless connections

You have trouble connecting to a wireless network or your calls are suddenly dropped.

Dirty antenna grounds

If your iPhone has been disassembled before, it's possible that finger oils were left on the grounding locations for the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth antennas. These oils will cause grounding issues for the antennas, which could lead to a weak signal or no connectivity at all. Be sure to clean all grounding points with an electronics cleaning solution before reassembling your iPhone to prevent grounding issues. Follow the display assembly guide to open the phone to access most of the phone's contacts.
