How is the part called that holds the disk?

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a special name for the part I circled in the attachment.

It holds the Samsung MZ-JPU128T/0A6 disk.

If someone knows a shop where I can buy an external adapter for that disk they are welcome to post it as well.

Thanks!

Thanks @mayer! :-)

Do you know the name of the circled part of the Logic Board?

Sorry I do not. I just refer to it as the mSATA slot and people know what I'm talking about.

Good Morning/Afternoon.

That is not an MSATA or an M.2 slot, that is an apple proprietary slot.

If you would like to use an adapter to use a more modern card slot, you would need an adapter card such as the following; https://www.amazon.com/MACBOOK-Retina-A1...

If you have any questions, do let me know.

Thank you,

Blaiden McClendon.

Does this proprietary Apple slot have a special name/terminus?

完成的

@horstpeter - It just a custom edge connector Apple contracted to be made.

It's not designed to be extended externally if that is what you were trying to do. Your system has a better connector for that (Thunderbolt).

I don't recommend these Apple to M.2 adapters to fit in an M.2 drive. Depending on the series it may not work and the times it does appear to work it's not very stable (lots of CRC errors)
