I damaged the home button attempting to replace screen/digitizer. Ugh. This phone is 6mths old through Sprint the" Iphone for life". I didn't buy the protection plan. Is it best to go to Sprint or Apple to have this mess I created fixed?

Tell us how and where you damaged it. Post a couple of photos if you can. Also are you willing to loose the touch ID, because they are paired? Of course I'll fix it for you. Those aren't exactly the size of the screws you're used to working with ;-)
Make sure you have an iTunes backup so you can restore it. Take it off iCloud and erase it so I don't have to fight with passwords and verifications before shipping. You pay for parts and I'll cover the labor. If I ever get your way you will owe me a greeting hug and a departure hug, plus some BBQ ;-)

Oh Mayer - I dropped it and shattered the screen. I bought the screen and digitizer and tools and followed our repair video. I was reassembling it, I got the new screen/digitizer in without any problems. I'm going backwards on the video . Step 31 is where I somehow damaged that connection. I don't even know when or how I did it. It is a delicate little connection. This is not my area of expertise. I want to tip my hat to all the technicians that work with screws that small every day. Ya'll are extremely smart, amazingly talented and very patient people. I have a renewed respect and appreciation for everyone of you! Mayer, I turned the phone off before I began repairs. I didn't back up to Itunes. I don't use iCloud. I'll send you what passwords you need. Just tell me where I need to mail it to, I have my first advertisements coming out this week with that phone number and I can't answer the phone.I am beside myself right now.
Family takes care of it's own and you are definitely family and my sister.
