Please can someone assist me with uninstalling Joy Launcher. This app was installed without permission. It is killing phone battery and eating data.
If I disable it always updates when phone is near to a wifi spot.
I cannot carry on with this phone

Hi!
You can't uninstall this app, as it is the Launcher for your version of Android. It is basically the interface's skin.
However you could install another Launcher, like the Google Launcher (which is, in my opinion, the best one out there, but there are plenty options in the Play Store so you can choose what you like best) and disable this one without it re-initializing every time.

This worked for me.
Settings - Apps - File Manager (or Files) - uninstall updates. I was then asked if I wanted to revert to standard Android launcher, clicked yes. Joy all gone! Not quite sure why, but the Joy thing seems to work via file manager.
First time I did this, Joy came back after a few weeks. I've now switched off automatic updates in Playstore, hopefully that will do the trick.

Goto settings-memory and press on Memory used by apps.
There you will find the annoying launcher, remove the updates
and this will remove the launcher from your Pixi.
You have to replace own icons on the screen.

Thank you so much, I think you may have saved me some serious hassle. The Joy Launcher was stopping almost everything!
For the Alcatel U5 (nougat), Joy Launcher is also found under the Memory Settings. There is an option to set which default launcher to use. This solves the problem.

All right, that finally went through...I have no idea why all of you are whining and complaining about this Joy app - I had no idea what it even was but what I do know is for weeks my brand new phone has been messed up by some ultimate GARBAGE entitled "Messenger Home". I hit a wrong button in setting up the new phone & somehow M Home took completely over, with all of its assinine yellow emojis that I so vehemently DESPISE. Just tonight, however, a message popped up inquiring if I preferred Messaging Home or "Joylauncher". I hit the 2nd just to see what would occur. All I know is EVERYTHING returned back to its normal state. My screen, my apps, etc. Go ahead and complain - I will probably never even use the app but Messenger Home is absolutely ABOMINABLE! And if it takes this Joy nonsense to get my phone back to being normal, then so be it.

Go to Google Play Store. Download Google Launcher App.
When it asks if you want to allow it (vs Joy Launcher) to launch,
choose ALWAYS use Google. Set up the phone with icons where
you prefer. Google does MUCH more, voice commands, weather,
location data like traffic, restaurants, time of travel, etc.
Basically you replace Joy Launcher with something else.

i have just Download Google Launcher App, I was getting a pop up saying joy launcher has stopped working. its looking better all ready

Go to the Google Play store. Find Joy Launcher and only then you can uninstall it.
BE SURE YOU GO TO THE OPTIONS ABOVE AND UNCHECK THE AUTO-UPDATES. If you don't, this annoying aps will come back EVERY DAYS like a yandere girlfriend.
It will still try to install itself after that, but not without your permission.

Install aonther louncher, I installed Nova Louncher.
Problem was, that JOY Louncher alwayes crashed - so I could't start anything. So I pressed home button long => Google OK opened, I typed play and choosed play store, installed nova louncher and choosed it when it asked me which louncher should be used.
I'm very angry about alcatel POP S4- never by a china handy again, big brother is watching and tehrefore performance is slow ! Can't get rid of facebook and insta too. I bought a motorola phone now

If you transfer your apps and settings from your alcatel to your new phone, check very carefully to make sure no Alcatel apps get copied across too.
Despite checking and removing several suspect apps from the list, I still managed to get my new phone infected by "File Manager", an innocuous sounding app that turned out to be by Alcatel which screwed up the lock screen and riddled my new phone with ads. I'm minded to factory reset it to make sure it is clean, and to set it up and install apps manually.

@egaslem gooday I totally agree exactly the problem it's a !$$&* of a thing that file manager it is supposed to do what it's called not keep popping up all the time with that stupid super cleaner I think it's called can't uninstall it so I disabled it and it has no permissions to fancy putting that on a brand new phone anyway I've got to love my u5 alcatel and nearly 400 apps on it yeah I know I'm crazy but I used to fix computers and technology fascinates me but I have to say goodbye because I have a brand new Samsung s21 ultra in my draw omg here we go again lol take care and good luck.

I have figured a way to keep Joy Launcher and all it's garbage apps from Alcatel from installing on your device.
1) Open Google Play on the device
2) To the left of the search box click on the 3 lines
3) Choose Settings
4) Choose Auto Update Apps
5) Choose Do not auto update apps
Once that is done go to Settings/Apps on your device. Look for these apps:
Joy Launcher
Calendar Lite
TCL Weather
Joy Launcher Live Wallpaper
Turbo browser (looks like a blue Chrome icon)
Joy Recorder
File Manager (purple folder)
Calculator Free (green/gray icon)
Updates (blue circle icon with a round arrow)
Click on each of these and in the upper right hand corner click on the 3 dots and choose Uninstall Updates. Once you have done this your device will revert to the stock apps and will no longer force install these apps.

*JL WAllpaper / *Turbo Browser / *Calendar Lite , but have instead Android System Web view, and Calendar, are these last the same stuff that the suggested?, must I revert these also ?
Another thing : what about an app named "???APK" written with a Chinese Characters before the word APK ?
and what about the "Apps " app ? ( brief case icon still in home screen )

I've always used and loved Nova, but needed a change. I use a Pixel 2XL and wanted something close as possible to the Pixel Launcher; but with icon theming et al.
Also I want my Google Now feed via swiping left on the home screen (what I'd call the 'signature' feature of the Pixel Launcher). In its defense, Nova recently saw the release of a companion app for this.

Still, the LAWNCHAIR launcher, along w/ its Google Now companion app 'Lawnfeed', have been JUST what the doctor ordered!
It's smaller, faster and more simple than Nova; yet more robust than the Pixel Launcher. I couldn't be happier. Again, I was a long time Nova user and don't mean to put it down. But I won't go back any time soon. IMO, Lawnchair should eventually surpass Nova in total downloads/active users. I'm really surprised its not on this list and frankly it seems like an oversight. Give it a try!

Sorry to hear this, I have two methods here that may be helpful to you. First of all, I am very sorry to tell you. Your phone can't uninstall Joy Launcher. Android phones need an Android launcher to ensure the normal operation of the phone. Joy Launcher is a pre-installed launcher app for Alcatel's mobile phones, and its factory version is very friendly to mobile phones. But with the update of the version, it has a high demand for mobile phones. Naturally your phone is hard to run. But maybe the new version of Joy Launcher can solve your problem.
In addition, you can try the following to reduce the impact of the launcher on your phone.
First, Settings>Apps>Joy Launcher> Uninstall
By doing this, you can't delete the Joy Launcher but you can minimize the impact on you.
Second, download the other Launcher and change the other Launcher to your default Launcher via Setting>App Default.

I just got an Alcatel 5041C and I saw that joy launcher is on my phone as well. Have only had this phone for 2 days and am wondering when and if joy launcher will cause me problems also. Does anyone have the Alcatel 5041C (Tetra) and has joy launcher caused you any problems? Please advise so I will know if I need to uninstall this launcher.

Joy launcher was forced me on a basic pixi 4 phone which was rendered inoperable within a day of joy launcher being install, it took the phone over consantly suggesting apps, with a stupic blue octopus on the screen. I managed to free up enough space to install the google now launcher and disable the joy launcher. This gave me 0.3 Gb back on my phone.

It keeps trying to install itself on my phone too, I've had to go through and remove it three times in two days, it freezes my phone up and returns me to factory settings, tries to turn on my location, make and manage phone calls all crap I don't want any part of. I complained about all this on Google Play but I haven't gotten a response yet. If any of you know how to prevent this I would appreciate it so much. What is a launcher app anyway? I never had one before and I have no idea why I would need something like this

A launcher is the app that provides your phone's user interface, in particular the home screen and the app draw, The factory default launcher on the Alcatel pixi 4 I had, seems to be an innocuous standard Android launcher, it was the replacement auto updated launcher that causes all the issues "Joy Launcher - Live Wallpaper".
There are two ways to prevent it updating, both done in the Play store app on your phone, run the play store app, then in it either disable automatic updates for all apps from the settings menu , or search for "Joy Launcher" in the play store app, select it being careful NOT to click on the update button, and there should be a three vertically aligned dots near the top right had corner of the screen, they are hidden under the title on mine rotating the phone 90 degrees makes them clearly visible.
Touch the three dots and untick "auto-update" in the menu that pops up.
The second method is best as play store will warn you if you accidentally click on update for this app.
