Computer no longer turns on

Hello,

Went through battery swap on late 2013 MacBook pro, and battery worked, but would not charge. Opened it up again, re seated everything, and now it charges but the computer no longer shows any signs of life. Are there any common culprits? One screw went missing in the process. Do they conduct electricity on the circuit board? Could I have broken the circuir?

Thanks!

Let's try for a spontaneous reboot. Disconnect the battery and the mag-safe. While we are at it, reset the SMC now, by pressing and holding the power on button for 5 seconds. Plug the battery back in and connect the mag-safe adapter. You should get a spontaneous reboot. Now that it is up, download and run Coconut Battery (post your finding) and lets see if we can get a better idea of the problem. If it fails to boot, you're going to have to find that screw- look around where there are magnets.

The screw could have possibly found itself stuck even under the motherboard and with that happening causes it to short out.
