Replaced Battery - Battery not working anymore

Hi folks,

Like the title says, I replaced the battery of my Acer Spin 5, with a new, original one.

But the new one was not really recognized, the battery LED was just flashing orange instead of just shining. I thought, Ok, maybe thats the way it is for a fresh new one,

but it just flashes (for hours) and at some point just stops flashing, but it is not charged at all.

The Laptop itself is working fine - as long as the power is plugged in. And he recognizes the battery with 0% charge. And that never changes.

There is also a battery reset button, which I pressed for 1 second, 2, 4 (which should be the right number), 10, 20 seconds ... with no success.

So I replaced it back to my old battery - which is indeed charging and the OS gives me accurate numbers - but he also can't use the battery anymore - meaning nothing works without plugged in powercable.

As a last hope I allready removed the cmos battery ... with no success.

Does anyone has an idea what else I could do, besides sending it to Acer?

Cheers,

Lukas

I doubt this is relevant anymore but I thought I'd share just in case someone else runs across this:

I opened up my Spin 5 to clean the fan and had a similar problem, though my battery LED only flashed briefly when I connected the power. I had unscrewed the battery and lifted it up, but didn't touch the connection.

To recover, I:

-Cleanly shutdown Windows and wait until the computer is fully off to disconnect power. Not sure if it mattered, but I figured it couldn't hurt.

-Disconnect and reconnect the battery.

-Replace all the case screws. I suspect that they electrically connect the shielding on the bottom plate to the laptop, and that this was the actual problem in my case at least.

After that, it booted up just fine on battery power.

Thank you!!!

Literally been googling for advice on this and found nothing useful.

For anyone else reading this who is having issues with their machine turning off at random times without warning; check that all your screws are in.

A few of my screws fell out and my laptop started turning off by itself. It took me so long to understand the pattern!

I suspect the best source of replacement screws would be a kitset of different screws. Ill post back if the below kit works: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FTI...
