Why won't my device on?

My laptop has not been charging properly for a few days . So yesterday I tried to on the device, and found that the webcam light was on. I tried switching the transformer book on, and the light next to it would flash for a few seconds but the device would not turn on. Throughout the whole time the webcam light has remained on. I have tried charging the transformer book for the whole day, and have tried switching it on several times, but it still does not seem to want to turn on. Could you please recommend a possible solution?
