MacBook power button doesn't work after disassembly

I followed the instructions from this site that refers to desassemblying the laptop in order to change the speakers (MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2009 Subwoofer & Right Speaker Replacement andMacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2009 Left Speaker Replacement). Everything seemed to be perfect but now the power button doesn't work. The button that indicates battery level works. Any ideas?

Is the keyboard connector properly connected and seated? If so, check to see that the cable that connects the keyboard to the power button wasn't damaged when you replaced the subwoofer and right speaker.

The problem was at the keyboard's connection. It hadn't seated properly. Very thankfull. Many thanks.

Try this: Turn on Macbook Pro with Power Pads

See if the system boots up. If it does is the trackpad & keyboard working? Test all of the keys!

If not your ribbon cable is not seated or the logic board connector is not latched

I use a piece of tape on the ribbon cable and use it to fully pull the cable all the way in the slot before clamping it down.
