push down on throttle and kicks out of gear , looses power on hills

@timglenn ,Tim, Check the tranny's fluid level as a first step and add if needed. Gear oil OK, check cables/linkage/bushings for loose/worn/stretched and also check the motor/transmission mount for being broke possibly allowing cable/linkage to be pulled, if OK transmission slipping out of gear sounds like worn parts internally(synchros), transmission would have to be disassembled and checked for worn parts.

As far as engine loosing power there are a lot of things that could do this,as a first step have the car scanned for diagnostic/error codes to see if that can lead to the fault. Some of the auto parts suppliers offer free code reading like Pepboys, Nappa, Advanced auto parts,etc and some of the guys are very knowledgeable and may have seen the issue often and put you on the right track.
