Dell latitude E6230 security password
I set a security password to my dell E6230 and i forget it. I have followed steps to follow when reseting pois password, removed CMOS battery and still its the same. So if anyOne Knows please help

You need to pay someone on ebay for the master code. A simple battery disconnect won't work. Its part of their security platform. The Latitude series has enterprise level security.

The password derivation algorithm for Dell BIOS passwords has been reverse engineered. You should be able to generate the master password to unlock the laptop using free tools like https://bios-pw.org/
(In case anyone has this issue in the future and finds this answer, you shouldn’t pay for a password unlock, the sellers are likely using free tools to generate the password anyway)

Try calling Dell tech support, give them the service number from the bottom of the laptop and they can give you the backdoor password to unlock your computer.

Have not read the instructions on how to reset security password just going of common experiences. This is the checklist I usually follow to help keep me from frying a board from static electricity.
1. Was the laptop unplugged?
2. Was the laptop battery removed?
3. Are there any steps to discharge the remaining residual charge, (some laptops state to hold down the power button for a certain amount of time after the laptop battery is removed)?
4. Does that laptop have a second battery installed?
I know these are common sense questions, that most techs know by heart, but one little distraction and customer computer could be fried. Hope this helps.
