Possible to replace the HDD with a SSD?

I was thinking to replace my 250GB hard drive in my late 2008 unibody macbook with a SSD for increased speed - will this work?

No problem, it will work just fine. Make sure it's the right size 9.5 mm and SATA.

OCZ makes a very nice SSD at a good price, most of their models will fit a macbook......I do have a question for Mayer or anyone that has an opinion, I would like to know since i have considered this upgrade myself. Is TRIM support important or not? lots of people seem to think so and mac os doesn't support it yet or have anything similar........Also there is a current lack of support for firmware updates for an SSD via Mac too? Is there a brand/model that supports Mac better then others?

I've forwarded this to the expert at OWC - MacSales. She responded last time we had a similar question. I have no experience with TRIM as I am a Mac only kind of tech. I'll defer to the expert on this one.

Brain - Actually this is a separate question on its own. You might consider cutting and pasting it into a new question to get better exposure.
