My keyboard is not responding to pressing keys

My keyboard is not responding to my pressing any keys . I got the screen replaced because it was cracked when i got Phone back keyboard was not working at all. Yet it was working before i got the screen repaired now its not working at all. Can this be repaired by replacing keyboard , or did the technician not replace the screen properly to cause this problem?

Lew, There is always a chance that a cable did not get plugged in properly during repair, have technician that did the work recheck connections. You could try a soft reset. From BB forums I have read, they suggest reloading the OS(operating system). I will post link to BB Passport tear down to show what may be involved in changing keyboard if it comes to that.

Hi Lew,

I would definitely take the phone back to the repair shop and have them take a look into the keyboard. Sounds to me that they messed up your phone while repairing it.

Opening the phone might have damaged good components and in which case, they should repair it free of charge.

Call them up and see what they can do. If they are a trust worthy business, they should repair it for free.

I had exact same issue. They replaced the screen on my BlackBerry keyoned Came back the keyboard not working at all. They give me a 28 day warranty so I guess I'll be heading back there? How did you get yours done in the end?

I got a Blackberry Key 2 from a reputable source that was supposed to be tested for functionality. In setting up and configuring the device, it asked me to type in for a WiFi connection the passphrase. When you press keys on keyboard, nothing gets typed. What do you suppose is the problem? Is there a setting that's going to work that I can access at this stage that will let this work or is a cable unplugged that needs repair.

Unfortunately, it may be a hardware issue.

There appears to have been a quality control issue at some point as quite a few people are facing these issues."

I was thinking of just replacing the keyboard since everything else works: fingerprint, lights up, scrolling up and down but not the physical buttons.
