installing lcd assembly from 1 a1181 to another model
will any a1181 lcd assembly (top case, bevel, screen and camera) work in any other a1181? could I use an lcd assembly from a 1.83 with a 2.4?

A1181 models can be Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processors. I believe the LCDs are indeed interchangeable but the Core 2 Duo have 3 antennas for the Airport Wifi, but the Core Duos use only 2 antennas. The antennas are in the LCD lid assembly. Therefore you will have no problems if you replace the LCD of a Core Duo with LCD of a Core 2 Duo, but not if you're doing it the other way around.

Thanks for the detailed response. I was asking specifically about the LCD assembly, which to me, means the lcd,the front bevel, the backing plastic and the web cam
I have an A1181 Core 2 duo and I only have 2 Antennae. It all depends on the exact model.
I have installed the three antenna models but had to exchange the wiring from the old one to the new one or you can change the airport card to the vise versa. They are interchangeable.

The Airport cards are interchangeble as well. If you have three cables just connect the outer two. If you have a card with three connectors and only two antenna cables connect them to the outer two sockets and leave the inner one blank.
The actual display panels are the same throughout this range of Macs.
