It happens, some times the grey sponge thing sticks onto the metal part of the cover for the battery and charging ribbon connectors so when you lift up the metal part it may get unplugged without you knowing. That metal plate uses the long screw and a short screw, long screw is for the screw hole that is further away from the side of the iPhone metal housing.
Never mind, I realized I didn't firmly plug in the battery connecter cable. Dumb mistake. I did get the screws mixed up and have two that won't fit but it works. Thanks for the reply ETHREAL1
