says radio off when I try to make a call

Trying to activate the phone. The screen says removed sim card. The card is in but when you try to make a call the screen says "radio off" call not sent dial emergency #. Called Tag mobile, they said to try the sim card in another phone. We don't have another phone that takes the mini sim card. anyone with any ideas? This is a disabled client of mine, limited income, so has this phone and he needs it to work. Thanks to anyone who has an idea we could try.

The sim tray may be damaged. Go to settings>about>status and see what you get for the cellular related info.

Do you have a hey Google radio, turn it on then call all the numbers affected by radio off then when you've proved that they are now connected turn off First your mobile Then your hey Google, I don't know if it is the same with Alexa but this was my problem and I figured it out as I remembered I'd turned my hey Google radio off at the plug in the middle of the phone call, hope this helps

the problem is probably that they already took down 2g towers this phone runs 2g so it would no longer work

I have a BLU2. When this happens (Radio Off), I do a total reboot and on new start-up, problem solved. You can also try removing and resetting the battery.

@Linda Liggett wriglesworth Since the problem is 2G towers, you will have to get a new phone. Would you prefer a smart phone or flip phone? What carrier do you use?
