Question on replacing MagSafe connector

The picture you show for a model a1278 does not look like the bottom of my A1278, the picture you show for a model A1342 looks more like mine except I have 1 more screw on each side, I'm trying to figure out which mag port I need to order.

You have confused the MacBook Pro you have with a MacBook which is different.

Apple stupidly used the A1278 model designation for two entirely different computers, just because they happen to look almost identical: The MacBook Aluminum (2008-2009; one generation), and the 13" Unibody MacBook Pro (2009-current; five generations). The MacBook Aluminum has a user-removable battery, but its only interface ports are audio/video, Ethernet, and two USB2 ports. The Unibody MacBook Pro also has an SD card slot and a FireWire800 port; 2011+ generations turn the mini-DisplayPort video connector into a Thunderbolt port, and 2012+ generations turn the USB2 ports into USB3. Sadly for those of us who own Aluminum MacBooks (which weren't out for long), there are no parts interchangeable between an A1278 MacBook and an A1278 MacBook Pro other than HD and optical drives. There's also a lot of internal variations between A1278 MacBook Pro generations; make sure you're ordering a part specific to your generation.
