Dryer just stops, no error codes

In the middle of a drying cycle, the drum will just stop spinning. No error codes pop up and the timer remains where it stopped. Pushing any buttons results in beeping, and the dryer wont start again unless you let it sit for a while. The lint tunnel/passage in the dryer is clear, and the external ducting appears clear as well. What should I look at next? Thanks.

It may also be worth noting that someone before me had recently attempted to clean out lint in the dryer and managed to unplug one of the moisture sensor bars. However, even after making sure these were both plugged in, the problem persists.

First unplug the dryer for 5 minutes to allow it to reset. Is it getting hot? Does it do this on all types of cycles? Is it overheating when it does come on? Is the load a heavy one? How long will it run? Is this in a home or apartment, I ask because you said someone else has been working on it. Has it ever worked correctly for you?

The dryer does get hot. I haven't tried all the cycles but it has done it on all the cycles that have been tried (Which I have personally done timed and heavy duty). I am not sure if it is overheating or not. The load is not always heavy, for instance the load I have been testing on has only had a few towels. After I discovered the moisture sensor bar being unplugged, it initially did a 30 minute timed dry without issue, but every cycle after that it only runs for about 10 minutes. It is in a home, the dryer belongs to my family and another member of my family had previously attempted to clean out the lint. The dryer has worked flawlessly for as long as we've owned it.

Wondering if the motor was overheating last night, I completely blew out the area underneath the drum. I started the dryer up and the issue persisted, and now there's a faint burning rubber smell. I don't want to run the dryer until I make sure this isn't a fire hazard. Could this be lint blown on top of the heating element causing the smell?

Will it still run the timed dry? This is not an easy one/

No. It now stops about 10 minutes into a timed dry.

Thermal Fuse

The thermal fuse helps to prevent a dryer fire by shutting off power to the dryer if it overheats. If the dryer won't start check this fuse first. Test the thermal fuse with an ohm meter or continuity checker. This is the most common part to fail when the dryer won't start. Once the thermal fuse has blown, it has to be replaced. It can not be reset.

Check it with a multimeter before you start and then again after it quits.

But would the dryer start at all if it's the thermal fuse? I was under the impression that once it blew, it wouldn't start at all until replaced. I'll test it regardless when I have time.
