It is stuck on the lock code and it won't reset.

I have a apple iPod and I need to reset it. It is stuck on the lock code and it won't reset. I have pushed the menu and center button about 30 times. The screen goes dark and the apple comes up but goes right back to enter code. Don't know what to do
