Loud noise when turntable is in use.
I have an over the range microwave. A rattling noise can be heard when the turntable is in use. When the turntable is turned off there is no noise. I have tried removing the glass plate and turntable roller not no avail. Should I remove the bottom of the microwave to gain access to the turntable mechanism ?
This is a follow up to my previous comment. After receiving a second microwave, after 3 days it to started to make the same growling noise ?? So I decided to thoroughly clean the platter, base of microwave and roller assembly. NO MORE NOISE. GE should have a 'tip' noted on the plate when setting up new microwave. So now I have 2 NEW GE microwaves for the price of one !!!

I read all the advice, believe me there was plenty.
Tried all the solutions short of taking it apart and messing with the motor.
Finally I took the wheeled ring that holds the turntable tray completly and set it on my perfectly flat Corian counter. There's where I found the problem was with one wheel that was turning unevenly on it's teeny weeny axel.
E-bay solved the problem ~~ new ring for $11. It's been working fine ever since.
Occam's razor solution.

For me, the solution to the "chatter" was taking a single edge razor blade to the underside of the turntable glass plate. After scraping off the microscopic particles that even dish detergent left behind... VOILA ! ! ! The noisy chatter stopped.

There is dirt from the food that stick to the bottom of the microwave. Perhaps there is residue from the soup which is very thin layer on the surface. When the turntable turn around, the wheel is uneven and make the noise. To fix the issue. Use a wet foam wash away the residue or dirt. Make sure the surface is smooth. Then you can heat up your food again in the microwave with no noise at all. Easy fix the issue.
