iMac won't boot after replacing video card

Hi all!

I have a iMac 2009 2.66ghz i5 with the HD 4850 radeon graphics card. The graphic card started failing (freezing) so i tried to reflow the card. This worked 3 times but when i reflow the card it only lasts a week now.. So i bought a new HD 2670 Radeon graphics card online and replaced it. Now my iMac won't boot at all! There is one diagnostic light on but when i press the on button nothing happens, no chime, nog hdd or fan sound.

When i put the, faulty, HD 4850 back in the machine boots again.. Does any of you guys know what the problem, and better what the solution is?

Please give us the last four figures of your serial number, there were some recalls about this time. When you put the old card in what are your diagnostic lights showing then. The one LED is showing a bad power supply. So your results are not making sence.

When the old card is fitted the imac starts normally and all the leds with it. The imac freezes, as was the initial problem.

No recall on this one, sorry. But if it boots with the old one and not the new, I'd return the new one.

Hello!

I have a imac a1312 mid 2011 i5 14gb ram ddr3 ssd and a HD 512mb video card and I say to upgrade the video card with a nVidia Ge Force Gtx 765m 2gb.

I buy from ebay a video card for my imac, I installed and I say to install a fresh High Sierra mac os x.

all was good. After I installed this video card I install the CUDA drivers, everythink was okay. I install steam to play a game who works before with the old video card. I start Dota2, the system was restarting, same one time, same second time, same everytime!

I leave the conputer in stand by to check in real time the cpu and gpu temp. Everythink okay, maximum 55C….

After 20min the iMac turns off and never start it.

I say: Is the piwer supply…

I BUY ANOTHER IMAC SAME FOR PARTS.

I change the power supply… not starting….

somebody put me to replace the videocard with the old and the system boot….

My question is: What happ with the new video card?!

The seller was from china and in the name of video card was writted after the video card name and model by vNick….

I check the profile just 5stars reviews… so?!

are the video card broken or not?!
