Hardware improvements for ds lite?

Hi was just wondering, what kind of physical hardware mods/ improvements could I make to my ds lite? Would I be able to install some spare 3ds parts without requiring extra circuitry. Such as giving it a better wireless card, microphone or even a 3ds Slot 1 game reader? (I think unlikey) Just curious, thanks!
