Split display, top part of the screen is repeated in the bottom
I just bought a used kindle, and it did not appear to be defective. The screen split after I reset the password. My kindle become defective like this one.The screen is normal in the top half, but the top half is repeated in the bottom half. What is causing this? I don't even know what part of the Kindle I should replace.
Have you tried a factory reset? you will lose your files!!! From the Home page, press Menu -> Settings -> Menu -> Reset to Factory Defaults

Twice. I probably will replace the Motherboard, I'm just not entirely sure that that will solve the problem.

This seems to be a toss up between LCD and logic board. I'd start with the least expensive part.
