Is it possible to get LCD up without damage?

On all Glass/LCD parts the back of the LCD has an adhesive layer over the copper tape. Is at all possible to get the LCD up without breaking the LCD? The reason I'm asking is because the Franchise I work for sometimes gets bad parts in (D.O.A.). Now when we put the LCD and turn the device on and the LCD works perfectly one min, the next it just craps out. So naturally we want to take it out and send it back unharmed. And so stems my initial question; Is it possible to get LCD up without damage?
