Went black. I was online and it just stopped.
It wont start up. the screen is black.I don't have anything else to say because nothing else happened. There were no whirrs or beeps or fades or
flashes. One instant I was @ ebay checking my auctions the next instant
black screen. Has anybody heard of this happening before? Should i repair or recycle? Please let me know...

does the little light on the dc jack light up? when you press the power button does the hard drive spin up audibly?

No,no sound, no light. Dead
Just happened to me. And I had to fire up the 2003 Toshiba to go online to check it out. I have owned it for a month. It is a reconditioned 2007 G4 Ibook. Went black. Did some cold starts. And then nothing. Dead. Oh dear. And I never use the battery. Also use the power source.

Emailed the dude who just sold it to me. Hope that he can help. Disappointed as I have been using this 2003 for, well, seven years, without a problem, except, well, it's slow.

How was your battery before this happened? Would it run without the AC adapter? How is the light on the adapter? Color?

I think it is the battery, It runs without the AC adapter(blue light) but not for long. Some one suggested I take the battery out. I did that and tried it with the adapter only and got a little beep, I put the battery back in and booted the machine. The battery goes from 100% to 84% to 92%
in a short period of time, so I'm battery shopping.
