Wires out of place?

I accidentally dropped my Nintendo 3DS system on a carpeted floor. When I tried to turn it on the blue light only flashed momentarily, then fizzled out. I gave it to my friend to see if he could identify the problem. The next day, after an examination, he told me a wire was out of place. So here is my question: Do I need to send the system to Nintendo to get it replaced, or can I attempt to fix the problem myself? If I can do it myself, then what part of the system are the wires located in?

Thank you to whoever can answer this question.

There is only 1 "wire" in the 3DS and that would be the WiFi wire. This is not likely the cause of your problem.

There are several things that commonly happen when these things are dropped:

1) Sometimes one of more of the ribbon cables come out of their sockets just a bit. This is an easy fix because you just have to reseat them.

2) Other times when they are dropped some components on the motherboard will actually break off. Sometimes you can hear something rattling around inside the 3DS, but sometimes not. If you take it apart you can look inside carefully and see if there is anything that has fallen off of the motherboard. This is something that is hard to fix because it requires very good soldering skills.

These are the most common things I would start with.

Let me know if you have any questions about this and I can help you more.
