How do I fix a sticky keyboard?
I spilled some soda on my keyboard..everything works fine but some keys (and the space bar) are sticky, and it's a pain to type on. How do I fix it?
you can try carefully removing the affected key caps, then use a q-tip dampened with alcohol to clean the residue from the under the key. Don't forget to clean the underside of the keycaps as well.

How can you tell if your Keyboard has removable key caps? My Spectre 13-ae052nr has this issue (Ketchup from an exploding prank) and I don't want to damage the keyboard just trying to remove what amounts to a mild annoyance.
Edit: FYI the Spectre has a non-replaceable keyboard. You have to replace the entire palm rest assembly meaning re-constructing the entire computer (minus the touchscreen) on a new piece.
Take a can of compressed air and spray all around (and under, you don't have to take them out) the keys.

I've done what David suggests many times. Compressed air will not remove soda syrup. Direct access is the only way.

If it's dried and hardened it will remove hardened soda particulates.
Oh wise and all-knowing rab777hp, how exactly do dried and hardened soda particulates cause keys to be "sticky"? In my over-inflated ego and under-utilized grey matter, a HARD and DRIED soda 'particulate' wouldn't be anything close to sticky. However, most current brands of soda utilize Hydrogenated corn syrup, and NOT sugar. Therefore: The (supposedly) hard and 'DRY' sugar is encased in corn oil, which takes months to evaporate. Even in a very hot, dry climate.
