need to replace the dc-in board
I see the 12" and 17" but no step by step for the 15". is it the same as one or the other?

Here's the link for the highest-end 15" PowerBook:

It's referred to in the guide as "DC and sound card". It's a 4" or so daughtercard-type gizmo. Not an especially fun repair, but it does tend to fix any power-related issues.
