Why is my Gateway MA6 Laptop overheating?
My computer quickly overheats under normal usage, and prompts me to turn the computer off until it cools down.
The Gateway MA6 is a business class laptop that features an intel pentium M processor and a 15" LCD display. It was originally released in early 2006, with the model number M465-E.
You're cooling fan assembly is mostly likely either clogged, or faulty, which is limiting your computers ability to dissipate heat and run at a reasonable and stable temperature. Replacing or cleaning out the cooling fan will help. You can reference the Cooling Fan Assembly Replacement Guide here for instruction.
